Tredyffrin Easttown School District
traffic and circulation feasibility study
Tredyffrin Township

Heckendorn Shiles Architects began their relationship with TE School District in 2017 with small interior improvement projects. In 2018, HSA, Pennoni Associates, and Traffic Planning and Design conducted a Traffic/Circulation Feasibility Study for the district. The intent of the study was to evaluate the feasibility associated with implementing potential physical enhancements for vehicular access and circulation. The study reviews and evaluates the feasibility and relative costs and traffic benefit of these potential enhancements at four of the district schools: Conestoga High School, T/E Middle School, Valley Forge Middle School and Valley Forge Elementary School. Beyond simple drop-off and pick-up circulation, the study reviewed the sports bus queue, proposed covered drop-off canopies, reconfiguring for more parking, and widening of driveways.
The study provided the Facilities Committee with an actionable project plan (Basis-of-Design) for adding selected Physical Improvements to the TESD Infrastructure Study in order to construct improvements in the future (Summer ’19 or beyond).
