HMS School - Harris Hall

award-winning dormitory

Philadelphia, PA | 20,000 SF

The HMS School provides educational and therapeutic services for children with cerebral palsy.

After completing a masterplan for the school’s historic campus located in Philadelphia’s Spruce Hill neighborhood, Heckendorn Shiles Architects designed a new dormitory to accommodate 28 students, additional staff offices and meeting spaces. The existing dormitory was renovated to provide additional classrooms and therapeutic spaces.

The new design respects the existing campus’ historical context and park-like setting within an urban environment.
