Flyer’s Practice Facility
multi-year renovation for professional athletes
Voorhees, NJ
HSA returned to the Flyers Training Center to lead a multi-year phased masterplan modernization of the player’s Performance & Training spaces. The overall space-planning concept centers on integrating a state-of-the-art Performance and Training Center and Shooting Room, complemented by a Player Mezzanine positioned within the strength training area. Guided by a modernized performance and training program, the new spatial adjacencies foster personalized monitoring, feedback, and training regimens between staff and players, while activating the double-height gym space to create an area that supports both player leisure and camaraderie. The plan expands the Performance and Training program throughout the facility’s private areas and modernizes key spaces including hydrotherapy, the players’ changing room, coaches’ area, and the kitchen and players’ dining room. Despite working within a more constrained building envelope while accommodating increased capacity, HSA addressed space-planning challenges through creative architectural and structural solutions. The streamlined players’ area reflects the elevated standards of the Flyers organization and provides Comcast Spectacor with a valuable asset for future team development.
