School Cafeteria

As part of the school’s multi-phase construction and renovation project, HSA designed a new dining cafeteria, kitchen, and exterior seating area. The interior renovation was envisioned with a café-like atmosphere to move away from the traditional cafeteria feel, incorporating mobile tables and foldable options to maximize clear floor space and allow for flexible use during after-school events. Booth seating lines both walls, adding comfort and a sense of informality. The kitchen was streamlined and modernized, resulting in a more efficient layout that reduced its overall square footage and allowed for improved circulation within the serving line. The exterior seating area was designed to be equally flexible, supporting use for dining, classroom activities, and extracurricular functions. Throughout the design process, careful cost considerations were made, including minimizing restroom renovations, reducing dishwashing needs and space, and limiting HVAC impacts.
