Historic Waynesborough

carriage house event space

Berwyn, PA | 3,500 SF

The Carriage House is a late nineteenth century structure on Mad Anthony Wayne’s estate, a large Revolutionary War property that is part of the National Register of Historic Buildings. The House serves as an orientation space, museum and gift shop for the property.

To fully utilize the Carriage House and increase its flexibility, the Historic Waynesborough Board raised funds to renovate and expand the structure. This enabled the addition of new gathering spaces, a catering kitchen, toilet rooms, display areas and permanent hardscape for large-gathering tented events.

The renovated Carriage House is a blending of vernacular Chester County Colonial Revival architecture with 21st century program requirements.
