Strong horizontal roof lines and wall planes provide counterpoint to the verticality of large neighboring trees. Interior rooms are arranged along a gallery, maintaining vistas and connection with the exterior landscape. Large stone walls act as organizing elements, separating the house into different social zones. The irregular plan of the house allows many intimate exterior spaces to occur.
